The season of falling leaves, sitting by the fire sipping hot cocoa and celebrating with family and friends has arrived! This past week was the week before Thanksgiving which means we always get together with friends and throw our annual “Friendsgiving Fall Feast”. I agreed to host Friendsgiving as well as Thanksgiving at my house this year, so that means I have a lot of cooking, taste testing dishes and drink recipes and celebrating to do!
To make it the perfect party and take some of the hard work out of it, I’ve teamed up with one of the most talented girls I know, as well as one of my best friends, Kelly Ford of Ford Studio Design to pull it all together! It’s obvious I don’t throw a party without her, you can see how she helped me style some other fun holiday events here and here!
My friends decided that each guest would bring a dish and I agreed to my absolute favorite, a charcuterie board and the cocktails to kick off the party. A charcuterie board is so easy to make since there is no cooking involved. I headed to Trader Joes for all of the cheeses, meats, nuts and fruits needed to make a delicious cheese board. Their prices can’t be beat and you can find everything you need in one place! Kelly literally threw the board together in just a couple of minutes, she added rosemary for looks and topped the parmigiano with the most delicious hot pepper jam. And of course we can’t forget breadsticks that pair perfectly with wine and cheese.
We partnered with 2 local Distilleries, Dark Corner and Hilton Head Distilleries to serve our guests some amazing cocktails. We decided to make a French 75 as our signature cocktail since it paired perfectly with our cheese tray and it’s a light and easy cocktail with a mix of Jocassee Gin , Champagne and a lemon twist. We also provided Mountain Peak Espresso Rum for after dinner cocktails that the guys loved.
Kelly did the beautiful flower arrangement and we decided to use my wedding china, accent plates and chargers to serve the guests on. We also added the gold flatware to bring in the holiday feels. It seriously made it so easy to host having Kelly’s help and everyone bringing a dish definitely cut my time in the kitchen!
We had the best time celebrating with friends last week and I can’t wait to host my family this Thursday for our Thanksgiving meal. I hope everyone has a wonderful week surrounded with their loved ones.
