Dress: Apiece Apart | Shoes: Loeffler Randall | Bag: Truss NY
(Thank you so much to Hampden Clothing for decking me out in this fabulous Summer look)
This past week was a tough one. It hit me hard that life happens and its all out of our control. I love having a schedule, knowing what my plans are each day and writing out my to-do lists. On Monday I was crushed. It was Memorial Day, my grandmother passed away. I got the opportunity to spend a lot of time with her the past year and a half. Ryan and I lived with her for 14 months while we renovated our new house right after we got married. She had just started dialysis not long before we moved in and I learned so much that I would never know if I didn’t have this opportunity to live with her during this time. She was a fighter and never gave up. I get sad thinking that she is no longer here with us on earth but happy for the memories and knowing that I have such a tight knit family that sticks together and helps each other heal through times like these. Nana, my grandmother lived a long, happy life. She was ready to go home and be with the lord and this is what gives me peace.
I was supposed to go to The Veuve Polo Classic on Saturday. I cancelled the plans, I couldn’t leave my family during this time. We all need each other right now and family always comes first in my book. I was looking forward to this trip with my sweet friend Paula, but she made me hopeful when she said don’t worry, your family needs you and we will go next year.
I had my Veuve bottles packed along with my entire outfit picked out for the weekend. This dress from Hampden Clothing is a summer favorite. I love a good classic white dress and thought it would be perfect for the Rose Garden at the VPC. This oversized bag is the perfect travel tote and can store so much stuff that it was all I had planned on taking with me. By far the best bag to take on trips! I added pops of color in these fun Loeffler Randall Sandals and this Raffia Bib Necklace (I’ve also been eyeing this one and this one).
This past week I was reminded to live life to the fullest everyday. Drink some bubbles, spend time with family and do what makes you happy.
Thank you all for continuing to follow along, lots of love to each and every one of you!
