I can’t even begin to explain how pumped I am to participate as a guest blogger in the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda of Calling It Home this season!
If you aren’t already familiar with the One Room Challenge, it is an event that takes place over six weeks that features twenty design bloggers that take on the challenge to transform one space in the six week time frame. Each week (every Wednesday to be exact) the design bloggers will document their progress and share tips and design advice with their readers. For a fun way to let other bloggers participate they welcome any guest bloggers to join in by linking their own room transformations to Calling It Home each Thursday.
So, here I am at Week 1 participating for the first time! I’ve partnered with my fabulous designer, Frances Still of Kinloch Interiors to take on my dining room!
If you have been reading my blog for a while you know that my husband and I got married in April of 2015 and bought our first home together a couple of months later. We loved the historic downtown area of Greenville and luckily came across his childhood home that had just gone on the market the week we started looking! He had great memories in the house and we knew immediately it was the one. We ended up doing a complete renovation that took 14 months and just moved in a little over a month ago to our first home together. We have a lot of blank walls and empty space. The dining room is right off of the foyer when you walk in the front door so we decided to take this room on since we do a lot of entertaining and family dinners. We knew we wanted to pull it together before the holidays arrive, so the One Room Challenge was perfect timing to do so. Take a look at “the before”…

Sneak Peek of Whats Coming:

Frances and I decided since we did a lot of neutral walls throughout the house we wanted to incorporate color through art, fabrics and accessories! While making the room beautiful we plan to make it functional so that we can host friends easily in a smaller, square shaped room. You can get a glimpse into what is to come through my mood boards. Also, make sure to follow along with both of us on Instagram here and here to see behind the scene details and what we are hard at work doing throughout the entire challenge!
Make sure to check out Calling It Home each week to follow along with everyone’s progress! I will be posting WEEK 2 of the Challenge on October 13, right here on the blog!
