Here we go again! Week 2 of the One Room Challenge is already here and it couldn’t have gone by any faster. Slowly but surely we are making some progress. Some of the amazing fabrics have started arriving and our game plan is falling into place.
After meeting with Amanda Louise the first time we decided to mix my vintage inspired bohemian style with her love for bold colors and prints. It may turn out crazy but it will certainly be a fun and happy room!
The first box to arrive was full of beautiful Larkin Lane throw pillows. This hand embroideredย Cabo Mexican Otomi Pillow was the first one I pulled out of the box, I’ve always been a huge fan of otomi fabrics, the hand embroidery makes each one unique and the colors on this one gives off the perfect pop for what we have planned. We wanted a good mix and knew that this Larkin Lane Ikat pillow would be perfect to tie all of our colors together along with this gorgeous cobalt stroke fabric from local artist, Marquin Campbell. The design was taken from one of her original paintings and has been reproduced in a mirrored repeat. Amanda Louise has her fun ideas of what she has planned for this fabric.
With all of the seating we needed a boat load of pillows to make a statement for our daybed that will be recovered in a fun new fabric (details on this coming in the later weeks of the Challenge). We knew what we were looking for but couldn’t quite put it together until we came across MINI-malistย while browsing on Etsy where we found the most amazing tie dye striped and mud cloth pillows! We decided to pair these gorgeous neutrals with this Anthropologie Tufted Pillow and this golden yellow Velvet Tassle Pillow.
The coolest bamboo chairs (coming soon) will be covered in literally the best fabric in the world from Tonic Living, it’s called Om Confetti and if that isn’t enough to make you think it’s amazing then you need to check o’self. The days are going by quickly so we have lots to do in the next few weeks to pull this room together. Excited to share lots more next week!
Be sure to follow along with the One Room Challenge Featured Designers as well as the Guest Bloggers this season and check out Week 1 here.
