The day has finally arrived, The Final Reveal for the One Room Challenge. The past 5 weeks flew by super fast as we got to share each step of the way transforming our dining room.
Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5
I am very excited that this room is now complete, it was definitely crazy and a bit stressful having a time limit but everything turned out just as we had planned! As you saw in Week One our inspiration was to transform the room into a colorful place that was perfect for entertaining.
We knew we had to to have some animal print in room. My designer Frances Still uses animal print in most of her designs and I have always loved it. She recommended using it in a rug because the pattern is so great for hiding stains and spills which is perfect for a dining room. We looked at leopard, cheetah, and antelope and I immediately fell in love with this Karastan Antelope Rug!
We decided to go with these bamboo Chinese chippendale style chairs from Ballard Designs because they are so classic and bring some sophistication to the room. The fretwork design on the backs is so fun! We had them recovered in a fabulous lilac velvet that adds a little glam!
We partnered with Lamps Plus for this gorgeous pair of mirrors on the wall next to the wall with art. We did this to create some symmetry and to make the room look larger which is always a plus. And to have another pop of gold!!
We had a blast creating the table setting! This was the perfect trial run for how I will set the table for hosting Thanksgiving. I was so excited to use all the fine china and linens that we got from our wedding! We found these fabulous Waterford Crystal glasses at Marshall’s Home Goods that go perfectly with the china. I was obsessed when Frances came home from High Point market with these acrylic and rock napkins rings by Times Two Design, they are the icing on the cake.
I am so in love with how the room turned out. It is just the right amount of fancy and casual. It’s perfect because it is cozy enough for family dinners but also has fancy touches to make it perfect for a formal dinner party. I feel like it is my own personal art gallery, so in love with every piece of art we selected. I know they will be conversation pieces for when we have dinner parties.
