It’s finally here, the season for shorts and dresses. The days are getting much warmer and the layers have been packed up in storage bins until fall. This is my favorite time of year, I always feel best when the days are brighter and my skin has a sun kissed glow.

I have been so much better about my skincare routine lately and using SPF everyday (more on that coming next week) and with lots of full days of work the pool days don’t come as often as they did a few years back.  So I contacted my go-to girl, Ashley at Verb Beauty Studio to make that bronzed glow happen in less than 20 minutes!

I arrived at her cozy studio after work and she first handed me an exfoliating wipe. Lucky for me she is prepared because I didn’t have time to run home and exfoliate and would’ve honestly forgotten even if I did have time. She used a handheld spray tan gun to spray a fine mist over my skin.  I was completely shocked at how quick and perfect it looked after she was done. My mom even asked me if I had been at the beach a few days later  (it looked that natural). And my favorite part was that the tan lasted way longer than any spray tan I have ever gotten. Typically they last a few days but this one lasted well over a week and a half. Below I am sharing my tips for what to do before your spray tan.

• Scheduling: I always schedule my appointments in the evening. I personally prefer to have my makeup removed and I like to sleep in the tan to get a deeper color.
• Don’t shower or get wet for 6-8 hours so that the tan can develop evenly.
• When I am getting sprayed for an event I like to get the spray 2 days in advance.
• While your tan is on don’t exfoliate and wash with your hands instead of a wash cloth.
• Make sure to keep your skin moisturized after your first shower and so on for a longer tan.

Verb Beauty offers 2 different types of tans, The Norvell Rapid One and the Norvell Venetian. The Rapid One is for someone who wants to be able to shower between 1-4 hours depending on color. The Venetian is the one that I did, this tan needs to cure for atleast 8 hours and can be washed anytime 8-12 hours after application.
