I can’t believe that it has been an entire year since the big day happened! I have seriously been meaning to share the details behind this special day for a while now and finally decided since wedding season is in full swing that it would be the perfect time to do so.
I remember someone told me one time never to plan your wedding until you know it is definitely going to happen. I took that advice and seriously never thought about any kind of wedding details until the day after I was engaged. Ryan & I dated for almost 7 years before he proposed so at that point I honestly thought it would never happen. I was in complete shock when he finally did, so it is safe to say I was very overwhelmed once the wedding planning began. We knew from the start that we wanted to have our very closest friends and family there to celebrate with us. We picked the location first. We knew we were set on Charleston, which is our favorite place to visit and where we got engaged. Then we chose our photographer, Virgil Bunao (he is the bomb!!) who introduced us to our wedding planner- Haley Kelly with A Charleston Bride. They are the dream team- we couldn’t have done it without these two! They helped us pick our venue first – The Daniel Island Club and then we started with the little details…
The band, food + beverages were our top priorities! My advice would be to go with your favorite band, we decided to splurge on our band (Sol Fusion) because we knew they were awesome and wanted it to be a fun party with everyone on the dance floor. They made the night!! Ryan wanted a bacon bar which included pancake batter cake pops with dark chocolate and bacon crumbles, mini peach bbq sandwiches, and mini mac and cheese topped with bacon crumbles. We served moscow mules as our signature drink and had a variety of low country options including shrimp and grits and mini crab cakes.
We kept going back and forth about party favors, there are so many great ones to choose from and we finally decided on our favorite sweet treats, Dylans Candy Bar Flavored Popcorn! We offered a variety of flavors so the guest could choose their favorites as they were leaving. They were a huge hit!!!

I also wanted to share some more party favor options and hostess gifts that I thought would be perfect for wedding season. I had a hard time trying to find the perfect gift for our showers leading up to the wedding so its always helpful to have a few options in mind. Below are my favorite gift ideas and some fun wedding favor labels and stickers that I came across when planning our wedding.

It is such a special day and can be very overwhelming. I told myself before the wedding that my goal was to enjoy everyones company, spend the special night dancing and having fun with Ryan and to enjoy every second of it without worrying about a thing. That is exactly what I did and the night could not have been better spent with the best family and friends. I would love to hear what your favorite part of your special day was or if you have any wedding questions feel free to shoot me a message!!
