I have been going to Clemson Eye Aesthetics for many years because of the consistent excellence in my experience and astounding results.
Botox and Dysport are the most popular neurotoxins on the market today. They both work by blocking nerve signals to the muscles, which temporarily stops the muscle from contracting. With less movement, lines and wrinkles are softened for a more rejuvenated appearance. There are some subtle differences in the onset of both products.
Dysport treatments are quick, like Botox, but results take effect a little quicker and can be noticeable after only 2 to 3 days. Dysport is injected under the skin to treat moderate to severe wrinkles. It’s typically used for lines that are caused by movement. On average, Dysport works as well and lasts the same length of time as Botox, but results vary for each individual patient.
Botox treatment takes approximately 15 minutes with minimal side effects and discomfort. Results take full effect within 5 to 10 days and last between 3 and 5 months on average. Botox is also used for lines that are caused by movement.
Sometimes is a patient isn’t responding as well to one or the other neurotoxin, the Injector will switch to the other product to try and achieve a longer lasting effect.
At Clemson Eye Aesthetics, there is no cost difference between Dysport and Botox.
The choice between Botox and Dysport usually comes down to simple preference of both the injector and the patient. At times, skilled injectors may even use both products concurrently during a single treatment session to most effectively produce a patients’ desired result.
